Custom Rotational Molding FAQs
Yes. Our design team and engineers have the expertise to meet your challenge head on. Before we start your project, you will meet with our engineers to confirm your idea can be rotational molded, design your product, create computer model simulations, discuss tooling budget and material guidance, and identify and secondary processes.
Yes, in most cases existing molds can be used assuming they are in good, working condition. In some cases minor adjustments are required to allow the mold to fit our machines.
Materials that can be rotationally molded include:
- Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE)*
- Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE)*
- High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE)*
- Medium-Density Polyethylene (MDPE)*
- Pipe-Grade Polyethylene (PGPE)*
- Homo-Polymer Polyethylene (HPPE)*
- Homo-Polymer Polypropylene (HPP)
- Co-Polymer Polypropylene (CPP)
- Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC)
- Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride (CPVC)
- Polyvinyldene Fluoride (PVDF)
- Thermoplastic Polyester Elastomers (TPE)
- Nylon
*Includes cross-linked, regrind, and recycled.
Yes, we offer mold in graphics. Mold in graphics are permanent, in-mold decorating solution for rotationally molded plastic parts. They are a perfect option for providing durable serialization, barcoding, QR coding & more!
Sherman-Tank offers a wide variety of standard colors for your custom roto mold project, and can even color match if a specific color is required.
Sherman-Tank offers the following processes:
- Assembly
- Packaging
- Mold in / mold on graphics
- Labeling
- Fabrication Services
We provide metal and plastic welding for up-fitting tanks to fixtures and support structures. Our techniques allow for a wide variety of joining and assembly options.
Whether and how your product will be subject to welding is addressed during design in an effort to minimize the required steps and through this the cost.
